How to Make a Dog Fence at Home

How to construct a fence using wooden posts and rails is shown in the stages below. Both the welding and the PVC netting methods can be used to fill the area between the rails.

Placement of Corner Posts in a Plan

Choosing the location of your corner posts is the first step and get WPC fence complete set with a post in laying out your fence lines. Two corner posts will be placed against your house at the locations you specify for a typical four-corner fence wpc that is attached to your home. The two additional corner posts will be placed farther from your home. Use marking spray paint to indicate the location of each post.

Run String and Drive Stakes

You must run string lines to make sure your posts are square. Drive a stake at the post markings closest to your residence to begin. Corner posts facing away from your house should be secured with two stakes placed 90 degrees apart, a few feet beyond where the post will actually sit. By hovering right over the hole and making a 90-degree angle guide, you will be able to run mason thread to the stakes to help you put the posts square. Then, securely run your string after repeating this for every corner post.

Place corner posts.

Dig a 2-foot-deep hole for the corner post using an auger or post hole digger. Fill the hole with a 6-inch layer of gravel, insert the post, and secure a post level on top. Attach two scrap-board support legs at a 90-degree angle to the post.

Move the post until it is resting on the string guide at a 90-degree angle. Drive a stake next to each support leg once it has been correctly positioned and plumbed. Without moving the post, screw the support leg to the stake.

Once the post is firmly in place, fill the hole with fast-setting concrete that has been mixed in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. Repetition is required for the other corner posts.

Run Line, String

Remove the support legs and stakes after the corner posts are in place and the concrete is firm. To create your fence WPC lines, tightly thread the mason string down the ground while extending it from post to post.

Continue to Mark Posts

Mark the locations of the remaining posts using marking spray paint. Place the posts slightly under 10 feet apart to make sure the rails are long enough to cover the distance as they will be made of 10-foot planks. Now is the time to arrange the location of any gates you intend to incorporate into your design.

Create Post Holes

Remove the mason thread after marking the locations of each post on the ground, then dig each hole.

Start a new Masonic string

Repeat the process of running a mason string guideline from the corner post to the corner post.

Place Posts

Each inner post should be aligned with your string line. It is advisable to place each post that will support a gate in concrete, even though it is not required to set each inner post in concrete. We decided to use a combination of soil and gravel to put our inner posts, with a 6-inch layer of gravel at the bottom of the hole for drainage. To ensure that the earth and gravel mixture is thoroughly packed, tamp each post in as you add it. As you proceed, make sure the posts are plumb.

Get Story Pole Cut

You will use a piece of wood that has been cut to a specified length as a guide to indicate the height of each post, known as a “story pole” or “story stick.” By reducing the length of your story pole to 54 inches, you may allow for 3 inches beneath the wire and at least 3 inches above when constructing a 4-foot fence WPC.

Cut and Mark Posts

Using your story pole as a reference, circle the fence’s perimeter and mark each post. Use a chainsaw or circular saw to trim the extra off of each post after marking it.

Attach PVC netting or welded wire

The procedure for attaching the PVC netting and the welded wire to the fence WPC is essentially the same, but any differences will be mentioned.

Start by attaching the material roll’s end to the corner post that is closest to the house. It should be placed on the outside of the post, 2-3 inches above the ground. Galvanized staples can be used to attach both materials to the post. A staple is required at the top, bottom, and numerous evenly spaced staples in the center.

Release Fence Material to the Following Corner Post

Release Fence Material to the Following Corner Post

It is much preferable to place the material on the corner post after unrolling it rather than mounting it to each post as you go. Until you get to the following post, unroll the material.

Fence materials are stretched and mounted.

Before attaching the staples to the corner post, stretch the fabric as far as you can. The mounted fence wpc material should be trimmed off the roll after being stapled, leaving enough to wrap around to the opposite side of the corner post. The excess should be stapled to the post’s opposite side.

Set Up Next Fence Row

Start the fresh row of fence WPC material at the corner post where you ended the previous row. As you did in the previous step, wrap it around the corner post and affix it with staples. The material is pulled to the following corner post, mounted, and cut in the same way as the prior post. On the remaining rows, repeat the process.

Protect the inner posts with the fence material

Each inner post should be fastened with galvanized staples, and as you proceed, adjust the lattenzaun holz material so that it is uniformly following the terrain. At the very least, affix one staple at the bottom, one at the top, and one close to the center.

Create a horizontal rail layout plan

The horizontal rails will be installed above the rolled picket fence wood material on the exterior of the fence. The number of horizontal rails can be altered to suit your preferences and financial limitations, but the fence wpc must have a minimum of three of them: one at the top, one at the bottom, and one in the middle. Choose extra rails between the top and bottom of your fence WPC is taller than 4 feet. We’ll have four rails on our four-foot fence WPC.

Install horizontal rails.

Install horizontal rails.

Install a top rail and a bottom rail between each row of posts, with the edges of the rolled fence wpc material positioned in the middle of each board. Use two 3-1/2-inch external wood screws on each end to secure the rails in place after cutting the ends so they sit in the middle of each post. Install as many center horizontal rails as you like, evenly spaced from the bottom and top rails.

Lock the Gate

Apply an exterior wood sealant to the fence wpc, either clear or tinted, and seal it by adhering to the manufacturer’s recommendations for application techniques.
